THE INSPIRATION

The Whistler was originally inspired by the original tale of The Pied Piper of Hamelin by Robert Browning. The story is about a stranger who arrives in the town of Hamelin. After not receiving payment for leading the rats away from the town, he decides to get back at the townspeople by taking their children away.

The Whistler also takes the innocent children from the town of Blackwood Falls and leads them to their death, so that they remain pure forever.
